What's included
- Up to 8 hours
- Siblings welcome
- In-home only
- Medication support
Some dogs simply should not spend the workday alone in a crate. Whether your dog has separation anxiety, needs medication at a set time, or just does better with a calm companion during the day, daytime care keeps them settled and comfortable in their own home while you are at work — no boarding facility, no pack walking, no unfamiliar environment.
What Daytime Care Involves
We arrive at your home in the morning and stay with your dog for up to 8 hours, following the routine you have established. That means feeding at the time your dog expects, walks on familiar routes, quiet companionship during rest periods, and medication administration as directed. If your dog has a sibling, they are included — the same attentive care, one flat daily rate.
This is not a drop-in visit. We are present in your home for the length of the day, which means your dog is never left wondering when someone will come back. For anxious dogs, reactive dogs, or seniors with medical needs, that steady presence makes a significant difference. You receive photo updates throughout the day so you always know how things are going.
When Daytime Care Makes Sense
Daytime care is a good fit when your workday extends beyond what your dog can comfortably manage alone, when your dog has shown signs of distress during long stretches without company, or when medication needs to be given at a specific time that falls in the middle of your shift. It also works well for dogs recovering from surgery who need monitoring and restricted activity throughout the day, and for reactive dogs who do poorly in group settings but thrive with a single, familiar handler.
If you have been using boarding or daycare but your dog comes home exhausted, stressed, or has had incidents with other dogs, in-home daytime care is a different approach entirely. Your dog stays in the space they know, with the sounds and smells they are used to, and the routine they rely on.
What to Expect
Before your first booking, we meet at your home with your dog so there are no surprises on day one. We walk through your dog's schedule, feeding instructions, any medications, and anything else that matters. From there, daytime care can be set up on a recurring basis — same days each week — or booked as needed. You will never be left scrambling for coverage at the last minute if you give us as much notice as possible.

- What counts as a sibling — does my second dog really cost nothing extra?
- Yes. If you have two dogs in the same household, both are included in the flat daily rate. The rate covers up to 8 hours of in-home care for your dogs together. If you have more than two or have a dog with significantly more complex needs, we will discuss pricing during the consultation.
- Can I book daytime care a few times a week rather than every day?
- Absolutely. Many clients book two or three days a week when their schedule is more demanding, or set up recurring weekly coverage. We work around your calendar. The goal is a routine that your dog can count on, so consistency helps, but flexibility is built in.
- My dog needs medication mid-morning and again at lunch. Can you handle that timing?
- Yes. We schedule our arrival and presence around your dog's medication windows. We log each dose with the time given and confirm it in your daily update. For precise medications like insulin, we discuss the schedule in detail during the meet-and-greet so everything is set before day one.
- What if I need to stay late at work and the day runs longer than 8 hours?
- Reach out as soon as you know. If the day is going long, we will stay as needed and adjust the rate for any time beyond the included 8 hours. Most clients let us know by midday if the schedule is shifting, which helps us plan the rest of the afternoon.
